libfreeimage-dev software package provides Support library for graphics image formats (development files), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libfreeimage-dev
libfreeimage-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libfreeimage-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libfreeimage-dev *
You will get with libfreeimage-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
